What is generational prayer?
Generational prayer is grounded in the biblical concept that unrepented sin and iniquity can have a profound impact on subsequent generations. Although science is just now catching up with research into this topic, the idea of generational impact of individual actions has been around since Adam and Eve.
At Oak and Palm Ministries, we believe that through faith in Jesus, God restored our connection to the Father and caused us to become a whole new creation. We are now seated in heavenly places with Jesus and are united with the One who overcame all. As such, access by faith to all Jesus died for us to receive is our starting place for any type of prayer. ,
We believe that while sanctification is a gift of the Spirit and an ongoing journey, part of yielding to the work of the Holy Spirit includes individual repentance from sin as well as lament and turning from generational issues so that greater healing can be experienced as the Lord completes His work in us.
Why generational prayer?
Over the years I’ve experienced new freedom for myself and my family as a direct result of partnering with the Lord to uncover issues in the past that were affecting my life. I’ve had the incredible privilege of walking with and witnessing others’ transformation as well.
Although generational prayer is not a magic formula to wave all our issues away, it is one of many tools the Lord gives us to experience greater healing as we learn to live from our new life in Christ as we let the old life go.
Oak and Palm Ministries offers Spirit-led prayer sessions, where we will wait on the Lord to identify any issues from the past and then pray as He leads to resolve them.
